What is GrapheneOS?

GrapheneOS is a open-source operating system based on Android that focuses on privacy and security. It protects your data from threats while letting you use your phone normally: you can install any app you want, as it remains just Android and fully your phone.

A DeGoogled phone protects your privacy. Regular iPhones and Android phones track your data to their servers up to 90 times an hour. How we DeGoogle the device?

DeGoogling a phone means we remove the operating system (OS) and install a new custom OS that doesn’t have any spyware. This custom OS is open-source and has been checked by independent programmers to ensure it is safe and cannot spy on you. We always start with a certified, brand new device.

The installation will be done on a brand new computer that has all the necessary security features, and it is used only for DeGoogleing devices to ensure a clean, spyware-free setup. All updates and configurations will happen over secure private double VPN connections.

Unlike other operating system, Graphene OS lets you control app permissions, so you can decide if an app can access the microphone, camera, storage, location, or the internet for offline apps. This is very helpful when using big tech apps or those that ask for too many permissions. You can also restrict access to your phone’s storage and contacts. Cryptvice assigns the correct permissions to each pre-installed app.

Example: Notes app, we remove all permissions, including access to sensors, camera, microphone, photo albums, and even the internet. This ensures that your notes remain only on your device. However, you can easily choose to sign up for cloud sync if you want.

iPhone users can’t disable all permissions per app.
